The job involves maintaining cleanliness across various office and laboratory spaces. Responsibilities include vacuuming office passages and work areas, sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping laboratory floors, countertops, and cupboards, as well as cleaning and dusting windows, desks, doors, and cupboards. The individual will also be responsible for serving tea and coffee to guests, washing and organizing dishes, cleaning stairs, rails, and furniture, and ensuring floors, walls, and windows are clean. Regular disinfection of kitchen, toilet, and bathroom fixtures, as well as cleaning surrounding paths and entrances, is also required.
Additional duties include emptying rubbish bins from different areas, maintaining cleaning and toilet supply stock through weekly checks, and preparing cleaning equipment for the next day. Candidates for the position should have a Matric or Grade 12 qualification, with an understanding of basic cleaning tasks and a proactive attitude toward keeping spaces tidy and organized.
